Apple increase over the air limits
This news comes from the Apple Developer news blog, where they say that you can now download even larger apps over the air (i.e. on 3G or LTE, or EDGE if you still use that). We reckon this is to do with the new larger size of many apps, especially ones for iPads, as they now have images that can support the large Retina Screen.
Great apps come in all sizes. If you happen to offer a larger app, we’ve made it even easier for App Store customers to get your app wherever they are. We’ve raised the Wi-Fi download requirement from 20 MB to 50 MB so customers can download apps up to 50 MB in size over their cellular data network.
One thing you should be aware of is that your data limits set by your provider could easily be eaten up quickly if you download too many 50MB files over the air. We also guess that this will include downloading podcasts. Our plan currently allows us to download 500MB, for our iPhone, so we will definitely need to keep an eye on things.
6 Apps to learn German Grammar
Here is a list of apps that one of our friends is currently testing. He wants to learn German, and with special focus on German grammar. This list might help you in your studies of the German language. Learning a new language is tough, you have vocabulary, conversational skills, listening skills and grammar and you somehow have to piece it all together. These can be all dry subjects, but by using these apps in your free moments will help to reinforce your understanding of at least grammar. Repetition is your friend here to learning new words and grammar. Whether you are studying for an exam (written, or spoken) or you are planning a trip to Germany (or Austria or Switzerland) then these apps will help train your brain.

In researching training apps, we did find a lot of low quality apps, either they didn’t have a lot of words in the system, or they simply didn’t function as a good app should work. Our list includes both free and paid apps, and appear in no particular order. All I can say is that these 6 are at least worth trying, and if you are stuck for cash, the 3 free ones are certainly worth checking.

Hourly Weather App
Did you know that you can drill down and see the hourly weather in the Apple Weather app ? You can see the changes for that particular day, which can be quite handy as the weather does tend to change hour to hour in some places ! This way you can be ready for any weather eventuality.

If you tap on the particular day you will be able to look closer at hourly weather, the selection will expand and you will see what changes are predicted in the coming hours.

Getting feedback on apps
Here is a great way we recently saw on the Google+ App, for getting people’s feedback. See the screenshot below.
Yes, that’s right, you shake the phone to give feedback. We could see someone would become annoyed with the app, and shake it out of frustration, and then they are presented with the option, “hey dude, give us feedback, what’s wrong”, which should help calm them down. We think this is a great way of letting people discover parts of your app the more they use it. Having a tab button at the bottom, screaming out for feedback the whole time, would just be a waste of time, and a waste of space.
Congress looking at iOS over privacy
After the recent debacle of the social network Path uploading and saving all your contact details, Congress are now planning to have look at the how and why Apple are allowing this to happen. Now Path has deleted the contact details and now ask permission before uploading it, there are still lots of other apps taking your data. The worrying thing is that this is done with a user prompt.
