Cool news today for the future of notebooks, and for apple fans. Apple has reduced the price of the SSD (Solid State Harddisk) MacBook Air. These beauties used to cost of $3,000 and now they are a touch about $2,500. They reason for the cut is two fold, one was for the Core2Duo upgrade, now costs $100 instead of $200 and the upgrade to an SSD costs $599 instead of $999 for 64Gb version. So now for two and a half grand you can get a MacBook air with 1.8GHz Core2Duo processor and 64GB SSD. We have some MacBook Airs reviewed if you are interested in reading customer feedback.

If you have suddenly become unhappy with your desktop wallpaper, why not try something more creative. Make your own ! Have a look at how these people, in effect, made their desktop transparent, so that you can see the items behind the screen. Doing something like this will really add a sense of depth to your computer. wallpaper mac

In the first one you can see the charger and the chairs behind the screen.  And see how the cables match up ! It’s absolutely amazing !

ipod background

Here is a 2nd Generation iPod, and the background screen has been changed (we will bring you details on how to do this in another post).  The background screen of the iPod looks like it’s not really there because it matches up with the pieces of paper on the left and right hand side of it.

more of these can be seen here, sadly they are not all Macs, so you have been warned !

A few things are indeed missing from the laptop:

  • CD/DVD drive
  • Power on Button
  • Removable Battery

I’m sure for some users these things are not so interesting, and with the move to download movies and shows from the internet, the days of CDs and DVD may be coming to an end.

Prices start at $1799 for the basic 13″ version which comes with a Intel Core 2 Duo processor and 2 GB of memory and 80GB of an internal hard drive. For another $1200 you can get a solid state 64GB instead, along with a slightly faster CPU.
