For those of you who purchased your iPhone before August 22 you can now apply for your store credit. All you have to do is go to this web site, enter the phone number and serial number of your phone (on the back of the iPhone), and submit. You will then get a text message from Apple with an access code, which is good for $100 towards anything that is carried by Apple, including third-party products.
The serial number is located at the bottom of the back of your iPhone (in case you are left looking for it).
About the iPhone Rebate
For those of you who don’t know why Apple is taking such measures, read on ! Earlier this month Steve Jobs shocked and angered many customers by dropping the 8 gigabyte iPhone’s price from $600 to $400 . This came 66 days after the product was first introduced and it was totally unexpected. There was many customers who felt blindsided by this measure, and vented their frustration on and off line. Steve Jobs came back and offered people a $100 voucher last week, in an effort to appease customers.

In iTunes 7 or later
- Connect your iPod to your computer.
- When your iPod appears in iTunes, select it.
- Click the Summary tab, and your iPod’s serial number will display on screen.
